HOPE AUTISM SOLUTIONS

Hope Autism Solutions (HAS) is a daily life enhancement program that operates in state-of-the-art facilities Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm year round and includes transportation for all participants. HAS is a “program without walls” which means that the goal is to keep participants active in the community as much as possible throughout the day. The staff to client ratio is one to three and includes trained behaviorists and BCBA consultants who develop behavior plans as needed.

Transportation is provided to community-based activities and local volunteer job training sites where tasks are assigned to meet the individual’s interests and ability level. In addition, a variety of activities are offered including yoga, swimming, basketball, soccer and weight training to encourage overall health and wellness.

Daily “life skills” instruction is also an integral part of the program. Cooking, personal hygiene, leisure activities and technology education are among the many abilities that are developed at the HAS site.

There are currently 5 HAS program sites in Somerset, Middlesex and Union County with the same common goal of providing meaningful, stimulating and appropriate activities for participants at all times throughout the day.

Our House, Inc. is the service provider for the Hope Autism Solutions program. Please direct all program inquiries to Nicole Cassata, Director of Day Services, at NCassata@ourhousenj.org or 908-956-2902

OUTREACH

For Adults Living with Autism

We are dedicated to the establishment of daily life enhancement programs that meet the needs of the growing population of adults with autism throughout New Jersey. We are very proud to support the exemplary Hope Autism Solutions program model.

COMMUNITY

Out and About

The HAS model is a program without walls. The primary goal is to keep participants active and in the community as much as possible everyday. We view the HAS site as the "homebase" and the outside community serves as the daily "classroom."

CREATIVITY

For Individual Expression

We strive to fund programs that develop a variety of interests for the participants. Activities are rotated throughout the day and include art, drama, music, cooking, physical fitness and more.

TECHNOLOGY

Skills for Work and Leisure

Technology has become increasingly important for the autism community. At HAS the participants acquire many skills by using the SMART Board, computers and portable technology.

INDEPENDENCE

Skills for Everyday Living

A primary goal of the HAS program is to support the development of independence during structured group sessions in the home-like environment at the HAS site.
